Editorial Policy

@@@The Osaka Daigaku Keizaigaku (English title, Osaka Economic Papers) is published quarterly by the Economic Society of Osaka University and distributed among the members of the Economic Society of Osaka University as well as among the general readership. The articles may be either in Japanese or in Western languages.
@@@The Journal shall be under the editorial direction of an editorial board consisting of four members chosen from members of the Graduate School of Economics of Osaka University and the Osaka School of International Public Policy (OSIPP), Osaka University. The editorial board shall select items for publication from among the contributed materials and classify such items into the following categories: articles, notes, data, and book reviews.
@@@Researchers who belong to the Graduate School of Economics of Osaka University or OSIPP may contribute their studies for publication to this journal. Those who do not belong to the Graduate School or OSIPP may also publish their papers in this journal, if the subject matter of their contribution is closely related to research being undertaken in the Graduate School of Economics of Osaka University or OSIPP.
@@@In the case of contributed manuscripts, the author should be either a member of the Economic Society of Osaka University, or a person who has paid the membership fee of 4,000 yen per year.


Submission Style Guidelines

1.@Papers must be submitted in Japanese, English, German or French.
2.@Submission of a paper will be put on hold for publication, implying that it contains an original unpublished work.
3.@The Journal accepts four kinds of manuscripts: articles, notes, data and book reviews.
4.@The Editorial Committee of the Journal decides on the acceptance of manuscripts for publication.
5.@The copyright of all articles and any other materials published in Osaka Economic Papers is held by the Economic Society of Osaka University. If author(s) use their articles or materials they must obtain the permission of the Economic Society of Osaka University.
6.@Author(s) should submit an electronic copy of their papers, as well as two paper hard copies of the final version of the manuscripts. The electronic version can be submitted on a diskette along with the manuscript's paper hard copy, and a Contact-Information Sheet, or by attaching the file to an email message to shiryo@econ.osaka-u.ac.jp.
7.@Each manuscript must be accompanied by an abstract of approximately 250 words, in English, German or French. It should contain the title, text, and author's name.
8.@A "Letter of Recommendation" is required for Graduate Students (Doctoral Course) of the Graduate School of Economics of Osaka University or OSIPP. Recommender should be a faculty@member of the Graduate School of Economics of Osaka University, OSIPP or ISER.
9.@Please use the following guidelines:
  • The first page of the manuscript should contain the following information: (1) the title; (2) the name(s), institutional affiliation(s) and professional position(s) of the author(s); (3) acknowledgements. Acknowledgments, if any, are given in footnote "*" to the title. Institutional affiliation(s) and professional position(s) are given in footnote gõh to the authors' names.

  • The second page of the manuscript should contain: (1) an abstract; (2) up to 4 classification codes according to the Classification System for Journal Articles as used by the Journal of Economic Literature; (3) up to five key words.

  • The third page of the manuscript should be arranged in the following order: (1) text; (2) references; (3) tables and figures. Tables and figures can be inserted directly on the text. Also, in place of the reference section, references can be addressed on the footnotes.

  • Footnotes should be numbered consecutively throughout the text.

  • Figures and Tables must be separated, entitled and numbered consecutively throughout the text.

  • Table of contents is not required.

  • In the text, citing references should appear as follows: Abe (1995), Sawai (1999).
