We explored and initiated the extension activity at Barangay Uwisan to examine the possible scale up activities of awareness raising and local initiatives about sustainable waste management activities on August 4, 2017.

 

 

 

We held SWAN booth at the Fiesta (annual festival) of Baranbay Looc (Philippines) on May 6, 2018. We organize a public viewing of Sustainable Waste Management Network documentary in Barangay Looc to raise publicity of the project activity, entitled “Ang SWAN Project sa Looc: Pagkakaisa para sa pamamahala ng basura: SWAN initiative in Looc: Cooperation for Waste Management” . In addition, we conducted a survey to gain information of general awareness, opinion towards proposed Barangay Resolution on SWAN Day, and willingness to contribute to future collective action for improved waste management.

 

We presented our paper entitled, “Committee Voting and Moral: Laboratory Experiments” in 2018 ESA World Meeting (Humboldt University of Berlin) on June 30, 2018.

We organized the Workshop on Sustainable Household Waste Management at the Riverview Resort and Conference Center (Philippines) on July 4, 2017.

We organized SWAN (Sustainable Waste Management Network) Workshops 9 times between August and September, 2017 in Looc, Calamba, Laguna, the Philippines.

Representatives of Looc and SWAN (Sustainable Waste Management Network) made a courtesy visit to Mayor of Calamba, Laguna, the Philippines (Sept. 2017).

 

SWAN (Sustainable Waste Management Network) and committee residents organized a clearing event on SWAN Day (Feb. 2018). 73 of the committee residents joined the event.

We organized the Joint Workshop with FIXS at Osaka University on Mar. 2, 2018. 15 of scholars and graduate students participated in the workshop.

We launched the Sustainable Waste Management Network (SWAN) and built a Facebook pager. (SWAM/Facebook)
